"Don’t-Care" input combinations, Representation of product terms. Prime implicants. Karnaugh maps. Quine-McClusky Algorithm. Combinational Logic. Design of Switching Circuits. Adders. Comparators. Multiplexers. Demultiplexers. Encoders/Decoders. Introduction to sequential circuits. Flip-flops, Memory.


Embedded Communications Systems

Description: Introduction to Embedded Systems. Architecture issues and codesign methodologies for communication systems. Modeling of Embedded Communication Systems. Basic concepts, performance evaluation and validation. Examples of communication systems modeling. The baseband case. Communication protocols design methodology. Specifications, functional description and implementation. Protocol processing and transmission algorithms implementation. Real-time operating systems. High level description languages and validation procedures. Coding, modulation and synchronization. Channel estimation. Synchronization and inter-modules communications. Performance analysis and optimization. Interoperability issues. Examples of integrated communication devices and systems.
