An Instrument for Real-time Emulation of Multipath Fading in Indoor Power-Line Networks

Abstract: This paper presents an instrument for real-time emulation of any power-line network topology. The instrument is based on the analytical computation of transmission channel characteristics and the accurate description of its multipath behavior by using information, such as wiring cable dimensions, node interconnectivity and termination load impedances. The presented instrument supports also real-time adaptation of its configuration parameters in order to emulate the time varying behavior of the power-line channel. As the comparative analysis demonstrates, there is satisfactory convergence between theoretical and experimental results.
