Fair Resource Allocation with Improved Diversity Performance for Indoor Power Line Networks

Abstract: The problem of fair resource allocation in wideband multiuser OFDM systems with peak-power constraints is considered. A new subcarrier allocation criterion with improved multiuser diversity characteristics is introduced, which provides increased total rate compared with existing solutions. As a typical application, we consider the indoor power line network with multiple links, where the system capacity is distributed with fairness according to the channel quality of each user. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method under different system conditions.
